On Thursday, Sen. Bernie Sanders, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president, will lead a town hall discussion at Dartmouth in an event hosted by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and Social Sciences and the Tuck School of Business.
The discussion will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Spaulding Auditorium at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. The event is for the Dartmouth community, but members of the public are welcome to attend.
Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served.
With less than a month before the vote in New Hampshire, polls show Sanders and Hillary Clinton are in a tight battle to win the first-in-the-nation Democratic primary. This will be Sanders’ first visit to the College during his campaign. Clinton has appeared at Dartmouth twice in recent months.
Over the decades, Dartmouth has been a destination for presidential primary hopefuls. The College has hosted Republican and Democratic debates in past cycles, and this year has brought another parade of candidates to campus, including Govs. Chris Christie, John Kasich, Martin O’Malley, and George Pataki, and Sen. Lindsey Graham.
