On Aug. 30, Scott Frew and Dianne Ingalls will step in as co-interim vice presidents for finance as current Chief Financial Officer Mike Wagner leaves Dartmouth at the end of August to serve as vice president for finance and operations and college treasurer at Williams College.

As Dartmouth’s chief financial officer and vice president for finance, Wagner has been responsible for planning, analysis, and oversight of Dartmouth’s financial resources. He joined Dartmouth in 2001 working first as controller and then as chief financial officer at the Geisel School of Medicine before being appointed vice president for finance in 2010. In 2014, he was named CFO.

Both Frew and Ingalls have worked with Wagner in Dartmouth’s Finance Division. Frew is the assistant vice president for finance and treasury management, a position he’s held for six years. He’s been at Dartmouth since 2005, first working as director of endowment administration and then director of finance and treasury management. Ingalls ’84, Tuck ’88, is an assistant vice president and controller, a position she’s held since July 2020. She joined Dartmouth in 2004 as director of financial reporting and became associate controller in 2012.

“I look forward to working with Dianne and Scott and I am confident they will ensure a seamless transition for Dartmouth as they move over to cover Mike’s role,” says Executive Vice President Rick Mills, who leads the finance division. “Mike has served Dartmouth very well for two decades. We will miss him, and we wish him all the best in Williamstown.”

The search for a permanent chief financial officer will begin at the end of the summer.
