A warm welcome awaits the Classes of ’24 and ’27 and their parents, families, and supporters during 2023 Family Weekend, which runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 this year.

President Sian Leah Beilock and other senior administrators, faculty and staff members, students, and alumni will all play a role in the weekend, which features programs designed to build community within the greater Dartmouth family.

“The weekend offers a wonderful chance for families to connect with their student and other families, and to learn more about the depth and breadth of the Dartmouth experience,” says Scott Brown, dean of the College.

The rich slate of programs includes open houses with campus partners, faculty presentations, house community brunches, a cookout, and a conversation with President Beilock and Dartmouth Trustee Todd Sisitsky ’93 about Dartmouth’s plans for the future. Two concerts showcasing campus a cappella groups are set for Saturday evening.

This year, families are asked to bring personal care items and nonperishable food for the Upper Valley Haven, a White River Junction, Vt.-based nonprofit that provides temporary shelter, educational programming, and food to people in need.

Last year marked the first time Family Weekend was held in the fall and included first-year and senior students and their families. The new approach has proven popular; more than 3,200 people have already registered.
