The president-elect visits campus and gets a warm reception.

Barnard College President Sian Leah Beilock visited Hanover on Friday, July 22, toured the president’s house, and met students, faculty, staff, and alumni who turned out by the hundreds to welcome her at a reception at the Hanover Inn.

Beilock, a leading cognitive scientist, also talked about her research—examining how people perform under pressure—and discussed how that helps inform her leadership.

The president-elect, who will take office in Hanover in the summer of 2023 when President Philip J. Hanlon ’77 steps down after a decade at Dartmouth, also visited two reunion tents, where she received an enthusiastic reception.
